Today I’m off to give blood.. a bit scared because this is going to be my first time giving blood so I don’t really know what to expect, I’ve been told that the first time you give blood they have to test your blood first e.g. doing a haemoglobin test to see if taking your blood would make you anaemic and they have to test your blood for viruses and things like hepatitis B and/or C  which I think is great because they are making sure that you giving blood doesn’t harm you or the person that may receive it.

I was just wondering if anyone else has given blood in the past and what was your experience?

Children eyes are constantly developing right up until they are about 7 or 8 so a child that may have to have glasses when their 5 might not have to wear them when their 8 because the eyes can change and correct their eyesight by the time they get to junior school.. but if you do notice that your child’s eyes maybe different that they should be such as a squint or you notice your child has a lazy eye like Aneesha then you really need to take them to the Opticians straight away to help your child.

Even if you do not notice anything wrong with your child’s eyes you should still take them to the Opticians offten just to make sure that your child’s eyes are developing properly. You should have you eyes tested the same as your child because as you get older so do your eyes which means that even if you have never had to wear glasses before and you think your vision is good still go, just to make sure that their is nothing wrong.

The most important thing is to look after your eyes and as soon as you notice a change go and get it checked out.

There are a group of 17 girls all under 16 from Gloucester, Mass USA that have created a pact between them to try and get pregnant at the same time and have their children together!!

I was so shocked by this, Do they actually realise what their getting themselves into? Having a child is hard work, I know that I’m a teen mum myself but to actually plan having a baby is so young is really irresponsible. I just hope these children are brought up properly in the right environment because if these teens wanted these babies so much then they are the only ones who should be responsible for their children.

In the video that I watched it said that most of these girls did this so they are seen as adults!!!! Who chooses to grow up so fast they have their whole teenage years to grow up without responsibilities, I honestly think that all women should wait until they are emotionally and mentally ready for a child, making sure that they know what they are getting themselves into. I have nothing against teenagers accidentally getting pregnant because these things happen, I mean it happened to me, but most of these teens make the right decision whether it be keeping their child, adoption or abortion they still have this option.. but teens that do on purpose might decide that they don’t like being a parent and they only have themselves to blame. The school that all these girls go to are now try to hand out contraceptives to teen girls, which is a good idea as well as a bad one because the good thing is that other girls are protected from teen pregnancy but the bad thing is that girls will feel that it is ok to have sex at a young age.

I think that at a certain age parents should sit down with their children and explain all the consequences of their actions wen it comes to sex… I will be when my daughter hits a certain age so that shes aware of  the consequences, I will even make sure that she knows the struggles of being a teenage parent so that it doesn’t happen to her.

On almost every site I looked at there were all these statistics and apparent “reasons” for teenage pregnancy which I honestly did laugh at most here is just an example of one which I couldn’t believe when I saw it!

Reasons for high rates in the UK

The Social Exclusion Unit report Teenage Pregnancyidentified three major factors for the UK’s failure to reduce its teenage conception rates alongside those of other European countries.

Low Expectations. Teenage pregnancy is more common among young people who have been disadvantaged and have poor expectations of education or the job market. The UK has more young people who see no prospect of a job and foresee a future on benefits. As the report said ‘put simply, they see no reason not to get pregnant.’

I mean come on!  This is just stereotyping and there is no actual fact to what this is saying. Most teenage mothers that I know have put themselves through school, college and they have jobs just so their children have a better future.

It just makes me really angry to know that there are people that actually believe this and this is how people really judge teenage mothers!!

My little girl starts school in September so this holiday is really important to me because I want to spent a lot of time with her before she starts school and becomes too big for her ‘mummy’ and starts calling me ‘mum’.  I think the one thing that’s worrying me  about her starting school is that she’s growing up too fast it doesn’t seem like two seconds ago she was a baby.
